A lot of Christians, particularly in the Orthodox faith, celebrate Christmas on January 7th instead of December 25th due to the older Julian calendar being 13 days behind the newer Gregorian calendar. Regardless of when you celebrate the Lord's birth, may you have a blessed day!

Early Christians celebrated His birth on Jan. 6. It's the Theophany ("Manifestation of God"). Older folks here in the mountains call it "Old Christmas". Most of these people are descendants of Scots/Irish and German settlers.

Best of Orthodox Christmas to all who celebrate!

Also, Great Lent is coming soon, and I'm ready for it.
