We have been getting Americans moving to Croatia over the course of last two or so years. Most bring their business or work from home.
Also, our government, as corrupt as it is, immediately protected its citizens and military from any Ukraine bullshit.
I know Croatia is pretty based (despite the corruption). And being on a coast is good. What’s the path to citizenship like there? Can you buy your way in? I’m a tech guy (data architect/programmer) with a secondary career in automotive/motorcycle stuff. Wife is an attorney. Any of that decent enough to get going?
You can't get citizenship through investment.
You can get it through 8 years of continuous residence, so naturalization. There is also an option to get it through being of "special interest" to Republic of Croatia. This can either mean getting a job in important position, or creating a business that has a good impact on local economy - jobs and similar, it could probably involve donating to support historical/natural heritage. I have a few ideas how you could proceed, if you want to get into deeper discussion, inbox me.
How is it with the muslim population there? They jihad and shit like they do in the west?
