His brother died 2 months ago, so I was expecting it, they’d both been aging and it was their time. But I really miss the little buggers. They both had a great life, I say they hit the rescue cat lottery when I picked them.

I’m pretty upset about it, even though I was as prepared as I could be. They were entertaining, sweet little jerks.

Treat your animals kindly, they don’t have much time on this earth. They are innocent, loving creatures who trust you and depend on you.

Sorry for your losses. The kitties are now in the loving arms of God.

Keep your memories of them as long as possible because they are only truly gone when they no longer live in the hearts and minds of those they touched.

Thanks, time will turn it from sadness to sweet memories when I think of them.

Sorry for your losses. They aren't pets, they are family. It is always hard losing someone you love.

You gave them a good and loving home and life.

They were spoiled, happy little guys until age took their health. I’m thankful that we are allowed to artificially end their suffering, and give them peace. I’d wish that for humans, but there are those who would exploit that for selfish reasons. Pets teach us empathy and compassion, I wouldn’t give that up to prevent the pain of loss.

We all take different paths but our end is the same. Be happy for the memories you have and the love given and given to you. You are a good person for giving them a good life.

sweet little jerks

What a great way to put it.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

Thanks, I realize this was inevitable, I realize they had the best lives possible, but it’s painful to lose little creatures that love you unconditionally and completely. Love like that is precious.

There is something transcendent about the cat, their nearly infinite capacity for love, while also having a complete ability to disregard the feelings of others on a whim.

I like to think the first sounds I will hear upon entering Heaven will be the angry mewing of my deceased cats, asking to be fed.

I also feel like I'll hear the exact same sounds if I enter Hell.

Innocent pets and animals don’t go to hell, and neither will you. God loves you, and he will fight for you until the end of time. You are more precious to him than anything in this universe. When you meet him all the cats, dogs and other creatures will be there to rejoice that His son has come home, everyone, everything that ever knew you will be at the gala to welcome you home. My fellas will be there too, purring and asking for pets and chin scratches.

Man so sorry for your losses.

I’m sure they were great kitties.

Spend some time mourning and then honor their lives by bringing new kitties in to your life and giving them lives as good as you provided for those who recently passed.

Thank you, I am not ready for new ones yet, but I will know when the time is right to adopt another pair. In the meantime I may volunteer at the shelter, there’s always a need and I can be entertained by some new jesters who are waiting for their people to find them.

I'm sorry for your loss, but grateful that you gave them a life full of love and comfort. You get to keep that love forever and I pray that you find comfort in the love you share with them.

It may be silly, but I do cherish the love they had for me. And I’m glad I could be there for them at the end. These sweet little animals show us the value of life, and I cherished those little guys.

There is nothing silly about it at all. They love freely and fully, and anybody who doesn't know that love isn't really living. You being there for them at the end is the greatest thing you can do for a loved one so that the last thing that they see in this life is the love you have for them.

It is sad to lose a pet, I wish you comfort. This is the cycle with pets, joy (plus stepping barefoot in a hairball) and then such loss when they are gone. I wouldn't trade it for pet free life. It keeps us in touch with our mortality and aging. They had a good home with you.

They did, I know they were as happy as a cat can be, and I wouldn’t trade this sorrow for never having known them, I think that simple relationships like this are a gift from God, and a way to teach us compassion. My suffering will ebb, replaced by fond memories, but for them, life was a joy, and I take comfort in in that. I meant the world to them. Their last memories were of me, my voice comforting them, my hands stroking them. That’s not a bad way to go.

RIP to your cats. 😥

What general area do you live? We might have a couple cats we need to rehome if you want some new companions. Two maine coons.

I love Maine Coons, my first cat was a MC. They’re awesome, you ought to keep them, they’re very intelligent and loyal. I’m in the Rockies and not sure I’m ready to replace my DSH jerks. But thanks.

They haven't been able to adjust since we moved. I'm not sure if its the smells from the previous owners dogs and cats or what. I put a shellac based sealer on the entire subfloor and they still are struggling to consistently use their boxes.

Before we moved it was never an issue to let them run the house and they would cuddle with us for bed time.

We are in the Pac NW if you change your mind. We still love them but if we could find them someplace they would be happy again that would be great.
