My voicemail is specifically not setup because I do not want voicemail. Send me a fucking text idiot.

I do not set up voicemail because if I do I get half a dozen "messages" that are just dead air because it was a robo dial from a telemarketer. I'm obviously not listening to those every dayso just delete.

So I don't want anyone who might be legit leaving me a voicemail I'll never listen to and then wondering why i didn't respond.

I only leave voicemail for those that I want to hear it. There are not many that are worth the sound of my voice.

I only leave voicemails if its a line that doesn't accept text messages.

I have intentionally allowed my voice inbox to be "full" for at least a decade.

Those that I want to be able to contact me know the proper methods to do so and to get a quick response if needed.

Nothing wrong with that. I just wasn't expecting the message on a planned weekly call.

The voicemail could've been a text.

It could have been, but I wanted to recite my latest poem to my mom. I've been talking to her about the young women that has so inspired me of late and there's something about hearing a poem spoken that doesn't necessarily get well communicated in a text.

!

Mail her a tape recording of it, seriously. Mom's love that shit.

The nigger you've dialed is unavailable. Goodbye.

Misdial. I don't call niggers.

Fuckin' almost chocked on my drink when this popped in my inbox. Shit!

I turned voicemail off. It just rings.

If I didn't have my office ground line forwarded to my mobile I'd do the same. I can't afford to miss a message from a client at this point.

My office line has it's own mailbox...I'd be happy to use our softphone, but the vendor was lazy and used the built-in dialer application on my phone to provide all phone services. If you lock down the native dialer, it locks down the softphone as well.

I get so few phone calls at work it doesn't matter. We use email for the paper trail.

Press 7 to delete.

Visual voicemail FTW. No calling, no waiting for the message to start. Just hit delete.

Why is visual voicemail better at understanding what is said and voice to text gets worse and worse?

Voice to text is a mumble rap translator in reverse.
