You guys know of my mother's issues recently, and she's making a quick recovery. Thank you to everyone.

Some things that have entered my thoughts recently about that...this past June, her cat passed. She was old, and an outdoor cat, so that's not unexpected. Foxes and coyotes in the area are always looking for an easy meal. But then, about a month before this all happened, their dog also passed. It was quick and unexpected - a high fever one night and passing before they could get her to a vet. She was probably about middle-age for a dog.

The dog, Molly, was a mutt. There was all kinds of stuff in there, but she was hyperactive to the extreme. You couldn't sit down without her running over and jumping all over you, slobbering on everything. She would work herself into a frenzy when someone showed up that didn't live there. She was the friendliest bull in the china shop, and she would never calm down.

There's absolutely no way that the folks could have looked after this dog in the state they're in right now. They might have been able to pass her on to my brother, who has the animal's sister - but she's not quite but similarly hyperactive and two would not have worked.

I kind of feel like someone went "I know this is difficult for you, but you have other things to take care of."

I hope Molly found a place where she can be a spaz until forever passes.

All dogs go to heaven. Dog spelled backward is God. We don’t deserve them and they have a much better connection to what needs to happen than we do.

That said The Lord does work in ways most can’t fathom. Burton’s and challenges are removed on our path as needed.

Those that pass are in a better place, only the survivors are sad. I embrace this fully now. I say my goodbyes and thank Lord for taking them so the get their reward, they get to go home.

Our journey continues, there is only the now. The past and future are constructs of humans not of the Heavens. Now is the most important moment there is. And I choose to send you prayers and love. We only have a short time here. Be with your mom as much as you can, I was with mine daily for the last year of her life. Dad the last 6 months. My brother cannot revel in that, but that is his path.

lol My aunt had a dog acting like that. She was all over the place, even when she was asleep (probably dreaming of hunting rabbits).

Molly would do the same thing, all over the place when asleep. She'd lay there and roll and snort like a hog.

Glad to hear that Mamabird is healing. As I've aged, I work harder to accept Gods work in His own time. Not easy, but hindsight being 20/20, I see things that happened to me, and realize that events , while difficult, worked out better for me.

Yes. You simply need to have some faith. It goes the direction it needs to.

Maybe you would’ve had to rehome the dog and it would’ve broken your mother’s heart. And keeping the dog could’ve led to injuries. We had a dog like that for a few years. She was my friend but I could never get her to listen. She’d jump all over people, rearrange furniture. She knocked people over. Knocked me down when I walked her sometimes. She’d hurt my mom a bunch of times by accident for some reason, she really liked her and got too hyper. She never meant to hurt anyone. She just wanted to play. We couldn’t keep her when we had a new baby bc she was going to jump on the baby and hurt her, or knock her over. I tried to train it out of her, tried to exercise it out of her but she just had these random bursts of energy that made her dangerous to small and elderly people. I still cry sometimes about how much I miss that dog. I miss my friend. Your mom is kind of lucky in a way. I’m not saying I wish my dog died instead because of course not. But if she had I wouldn’t feel like I’d abandoned my friend, wonder what she’s doing, hope she’s ok. We have a very small dog now who can’t hurt anyone and I love her but she’s not a replacement to that dog, she’s different. It’s good your mom didn’t have to go through this. What happened to your mother’s dog was out of her control so she could never blame herself.

I think that's the reason. She has also remarked on this, in that the dog left us because she had to.

My pupper's name is also Molly. My daughter named her after this bulldog character in a kids book series called Molly Moon.
