Wtf? How can I tell if I’m paying a company in India? I try to look at manufacturer and/or country of origin when purchasing online. Need more details. How did this happen?
So heres the details. I had a debt. It was in collections it was a medical thing from a small doctors office that had a little bit of trouble sending out bills apparently. Small town I lived in for 10 years. They sent me to collections 3 times the first two I called them up and paid the bill when I discovered it. This time I moved and wasn't checking so a year or so went buy. They sold the debt to a collection agency in India, spend a little time digging on certain networks and you'll find debt collection companies out of India have a habit of selling credit card numbers. So the act of me paying that collection agency for the 50$ debt got my card number sold. Then it showed up on a cloned card 2 states away from me and they managed to pull over 100$ out of my account before I caught it and canceled the card and disputed it. Long story short if you have to pay a collection company in India, or possibly any company in India, keep a close eye on your accounts.
Holy crap. You’ve just described something uncannily familiar that is happening with my daughter right now. We’ve been fighting/disputing the claim. Thanks for the details.
it sucks.
I would say pay via method that is not linked to ANY of your accounts. Western Union Wire transfer Paypal Etc
I think you got off easy at 100. Fucking pajeet street shitting groids. Any foreign transactions are risky. Thats harder to get away with here because the laws and they can catch up to them quicker and easier. Especially if its a real licensed company its too risky
