Where we live people like to show how big their penis is by launching as many fireworks off/near their property as possible. They come in volleys. Since they cant launch fireworks every second from just before sunset to 4am, you will see pauses of fireworks when other properties light up, almost as if in reply to the other fireworks. The closer you get to midnight, the less that is true, and the farther you get from midnight the more it is true. As someone who appreciates fireworks..... i think it's awesome. We live in an awesome spot where its almost constant fireworks from everyone everywhere, no official fireworks show, just a bunch of anxious firemen and police running around L.A. trying to save us from ourselves. It's very illegal to shoot fireworks without a permit but I do enjoy laying on the porch with a 360' view of the sky and fireworks everywhere
