Apparently the trick with rabbit to avoid "rabbit starvation" is to break the bones and boil out the marrow. No idea if that actually works but its better than starving slowly if it dose.

That is also a good idea.. Though I don't know if I have ever eaten predator meat. The only exception probably being fish or snake I think?

Even put some of that rabbit meat on hooks and try to catch birds. A bit on fish hooks would be great, just catch one fish and use its guts to catch the next one and so on, while enjoying the meat of the fish yourself.
