You can also add custom images for vid8 previews/thumbnails.
Pause the video where you want to take the screenshot from, click the picture camera icon, it will download that frame as an image.
You can then [edit] the video (left side of title) in the video page, and upload that screenshot.
In the future, I will update vid8 to do this directly without having to do these actions.
