It's going pretty good. She's a little over a year old now. Already much better behaved then when we got her but there is still a ton of room for improvement. First dog I've had for myself(and wife) as an adult although I've lived with them in the house for 90% of my life. She is an aggressive chewer and obliterates most treats, chews, or toys in the blink of an eye. Because of this we give her actual bones she can chew on for awhile. She even breaks off pieces. There also has to be at least 6 of them buried around the yard. She got upset the other day because she forgot where she put one and tore half the yard up. Not great but it's not like it's a nice lawn or anything. Aside from her lack of former training she's a good dog with a kind soul.

Anyway what actually prompted me to post this is we don't give her bully sticks anymore. They're kind of expensive and last <1min. So I thought "What the hell is a bully stick anyway?"

My dogs love pig ears. But one heavy chewer, chews his up in 2 mins. One of the weird items that works well for my boys are these 8" square silicon mats with silicon nubs all over it. Rub some peanut butter on it and work it into the nubs and you get a dog licking PB for 10 mins.

What dog food are you feeding?

Read the nutritional info, dogs need a lot of the same stuff as people. Don't feed her shit food if you want her to stay healthy.

It is a bit expensive. I feed Blue Wilderness.

Do you live in a cold climate?

Temperate Mediterranean part of Commiefornia. She likes to hangout in the rain and lay on the tile floors. Also has an endless supply of water and shelter. And she gets brushed all the time. No she does not pant endlessly. The dog is fine, just rambunctious. Still here because of family. The idea of the whole family moving elsewhere has been considered openly.
