Stretch, stretch, and stretch some more. Ice when you can. When you're ready to go to bed do more stretching, ice it, and then heat to relax. Doing an ice bath then going to a warm Epsom Salt bath is real nice.
Your milage may vary, but I've hurt my back more than a few times. In my experience the above really helps speed up healing time. Good luck man...
I really like the tens unit, of course I had to search for one since the move.
