It feels like I'm surprised every year. I didn't think I'd make it past 30, even when I was a kid. I know I'll never be able to retire, so what I'm doing now is likely what I'll be doing until I do croak. I'm probably the happiest I've ever been, mostly because my head is on straight and I'm with someone not using me. Sucks that inflation and housing is through the roof, but I guess that's to be expected anymore.

Right? 20s were nuts. I got over my impulsiveness in my 30s and my life got infinitely more chill lol. Signing a lease and moving in with someone I hadn't met was probably the stupidest and that was in my late 20s.

Im honestly still surprised I didnt die or go to prison before I got married at 28.

For me it was definitely death that was likely. Prison not so much, at least until I was forced onto Zoloft. Then I became homicidal. But that knocked me out of my situation and gave me a second chance, so even that wasn't all bad.
