It feels like I'm surprised every year. I didn't think I'd make it past 30, even when I was a kid. I know I'll never be able to retire, so what I'm doing now is likely what I'll be doing until I do croak. I'm probably the happiest I've ever been, mostly because my head is on straight and I'm with someone not using me. Sucks that inflation and housing is through the roof, but I guess that's to be expected anymore.

I've come to the same conclusion at that age. Retirement is one of the scams, in my opinion, from the 20th century. It, along with the various death taxes, was designed to keep those that were slightly successful from passing the wealth to their family's when they died. Can't have your children get a leg up on life and chance to be more successful...they should pull themselves up by their bootstraps after all like they did.

Fuck. Yeah. So I never had kids. Retirement is for the "olds".

Retirement is for the first generation under the New Deal.

Over 75% of the "Greatest Generation" and "Silent Generation" are dead according to this site: https://incendar.com/silent_generation_deathclock.php
