It doesn't matter that the game hasn't been updated in years, if it requires steam DRM you may as well kiss your money goodbye.

That is strange, XFCE had been much more prone to breaking than Cinnamon from my experience.

Maybe it was related to Linux Mint and not the DE. I might try it when I do a reinstall in a few months

I use LMDE so maybe it was just an Ubuntu thing.
