It's been a couple of years since the lunatics up here in charge of Oregon got rid of any sort of competency requirement. And being the delusional lunatics that they are, they actually bragged about graduation rates being higher because of it. Well no shit. I don't go out in public (not populated areas anyway) much here, and when I do I tend to avoid most interaction with others, so I don't see a lot of the BS that goes on, but I have spoken to friends about it, and they tell me the number of absolute idiots running around is like nothing they've ever seen. Some are employers who tell me that their biggest difficulty is finding people who can figure out to how to just show up every day, relatively on time. Second to that would be the number of people they have to screen out since they have pretty much no skills whatsoever, including almost a complete inability to comprehend the simplest of instructions, and are triggered by the most innocuous bullshit. They tell me it's like trying to find employees at a daycare.
