I just received one knife order today, and another is scheduled to arrive in two weeks. (Different knife makers.) There's nothing wrong with you at all. ;-)

My most successful buys are a benchmade cqc7 which is worth almost three times what I paid for it by ebay prices and a coldsteel trailmaster worth more than I paid.

One day I should go through my collection and see what it's worth. I've sold a few here and there over the years, but I still have quite a number of them.

Ironically those are the two I will never part with. Hell Im never gonna part with any of them. Benchmade doesnt make the cqc7 anymore which kicked up the price.

A good knife is a good thing, several good knives are great. Diversify, ammo guns, gold, silver, food stores, textiles all are good to stack deep these days.

There is something wrong with me

Been saying it for a while, bro…

Stack silver / gold. It's a more fungible store of wealth and, in the longterm, becomes a retirement savings. It certainly slakes the thirst to collect something less fruitful.

Not trying to dogg on ya' knives can be cool.

I have said it here before, precious metals are a way to preserve wealth. And yes if nothing happens they are good, well gold has been not so much silver. But if shtf, your gold is worthless to me. Im not gonna buy anymore expensive knives, I have enough. But every now and again a midprice or cheap one comes along I cant resist. Sides I cant afford gold.

You're not wrong. If SHTF, ammunition will basically become currency. Gold/silver is simply the play to hedge if nothing changes in our situation- which is that our currency continues to become worthless. Absolutely correct on all points.

As for the gold/silver expense issue, gotta play the gold to silver ratios. Buy silver when it's cheap and then trade it for gold when it's expensive. Without this move I never would have been able to afford buying the farm that I did. you can make 5-20% on the swings regularly.

Best of luck!

Mix it up with ammo and silver and non-perishables. :)

Think of all the booze you could have bought with that money. Where are your priorities man ?

[–] 1 pt

I don't see the problem. Some folks collect fucking bean bag dolls that cost a fucking fortune and are absolutely worthless. People collect all kinds of shit ass garbage and pay way too much for it. You collect deadly tools. I think it's great.

What did you get?

I’ma big fan of Chris reeve.

Do you have a booth at the flea market?

My son probably will in the future.

[–] 1 pt

That's OK. Knives will be a good barter item in the future...

I do the same with yarn. My bf with guns and watches. I think we all have our excessive 'collections'.

Yarn doesnt go bad?

Not unless it's wool and you got worms eating it.
