Depends where you are. I've never been on the benefit other then briefly when the company I worked for went under.

I got fired recently, total bs reason, fought it , got to collect. No paper trail, no warnings , they claimed I didn't report damage "right away" they knew within 10 minutes of me finding it.
Company was actually pretty decent but front line management were mostly passive aggressive psychopaths
