I was still within my return period, so I returned the phone (Motorola Edge+ 2022) for a full refund simply stating it did not meet my requirements. The two big missing features I overlooked when I hastily purchased the phone were the 3.5 mm headphone jack and an SD card slot.

The chosen replacement phone (Motorola G Stylus 5G 2023) is not lacking those features. The CPU is a downgrade, and I lost 2 GB RAM (8 to 6). New phone is running Android 13 whereas the Edge+ only went up to 12. Phone size is identical, but this new one has a built in stylus. It's also considerably cheaper, so I got $200 back in my pocket.

All in all, I'm more pleased with this unit. Thanks for making me feel like an idiot.

I'm stuck on my s10+ becuase of the headphone jack. I have no desire to upgrade becuase of it.

There are usb-c/ headphone jack dongles that fit into your usb-c port on a phone. I'm wired earbuds all the way.

I travel.... a lot..doing day trips....If I remembered the dongle I'd remember the headphones at home.

Now I can get them for free from the plane or 3 bucks from the local wherever.

Once you go usb, lightning, wireless, you are looking at spending a hell of a lot more for only a day's use.

Plus I do shit with music that is far better to use an analog jack with zero latency, no power, and isolated. Older is sometimes better.

Motorola has some pretty good options including a headphone jack with a modern Android installed.

You don't like Bluetooth?

I do actually, though on here it is largely ridiculed. The thing is that my garage stereo is about 20 years old and only has the physical port. My garage was briefly without tunes.

Why don't you find an mp3 to put exclusively your music on for the stereo? That's what I do, so I can have my music without the phone all the time mostly

Goes back to the SD card requirement as well. I keep a 512 GB SD card with all my lossless CD rips on it. It lives comfortably in my phone.

I like having my music with me when I'm out and about too. The car has Bluetooth.

Tunes are important. My car is older and I have to use a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter to get music from my phone. Works well enough. Only downside is I can't charge the phone if I'm playing music.

Ah, yeah man that would suck. Having the 3.5 plus the USB-C means I can run that thing on there 24/7 if I wanted. I keep it on top of my toolbox which has a built in power strip and fast charging USB ports built in. It's a good setup.

Does your phone do wireless charging. Most newer phones that dumped the 3.5 jack have wireless charging. Can purchase a phone mount that does it. Then you can charge and do tunes.

Hello Moto

Do you like the G Stylus? I've been thinking about getting one. I have a G Power android 11, don't like as well my older G7 android 10.

It's pretty solid so far. I upgraded from the Motorola One 5G Ace to the Edge+ then to this, and this one is easily my favorite of the three.

I was eyeing the Motorola G for a replacement to my samsung galaxy s9.

What's wrong with Bluetooth? I may have missed that post....

Cool. I haven't seen one in a while because I haven't looked, but I used to have a device I could plug into my stereo port which allowed my phone to connect through Bluetooth. I don't remember what it was called.
