Apparently I must have sounded like a self diagnosing hypochondriac... Walking in there saying I took a bit off my pinky. Apparently I meant to say - Reason for visit: Musculoskeletal Pain (chief complaint) Leave the diagnosis to the professionals. Diagnosis: Partial Traumatic Amputation Of Finger Through Phalanx, Initial Encounter Partial Traumatic Transphalangeal Amputation Of Unspecified Finger, Initial Encounter

That pain scale was invented by those opioid dudes....gotta love how much influence big pharma has. There's also the PHQ (patient health questionnaire) that docs use to see if you "depressed" and that one is brought to you by Pfizer. If you get a certain number of points based on their crappy questions, you get put on an anti-depressant.

Right. They say they're gonna give me a tetanus shot and a local anesthetic for the finger. I tell em the tetanus shots gonna hurt more than the finger. They laugh, and say they can get me something stronger than the local. Nah I'm fine, thanks. Come back to check on me. How's the pain, do you need something stronger? I'm fine, just close up the wound already.

They got visibly upset when I had surgery and refused vicodin. I ended up just taking the rx and filling it. I still have the bottle. I think I took one that first night, due to pressure from my mom, but I still have the rest of the bottle. They really push the meds like crazy. It's amazing.

I used to enjoy abusing me some pain killers, guess I've matured at least a bit.
