You are correct. We are steadily drip fed lie after lie, each built upon the previous lie. And to protect those lies, they drip feed more lies, telling us that if anyone challenges these lies they are hateful, racist, evil, selfish, destructive, so on and so on... Worse, by upholding the lies you are good, righteous, and virtuous.
This is why it's so very important to not trigger cognitive dissonance when planting seeds. They have been programmed to mentally short circuit should they be accosted by the harsh, ugly, truth.
