See title fuckwits. I imagine they are nutritionally better too. The soil isn't depleted of all its mineral content.

It's true. I keep trying to grow new things and adjust my garden each year toward what has grown the best in my climate.

Usually the vegetables/fruits are smaller than in the store - closer to the original wild crop, and tastier.

If you grow your own you gotta know how to maintain the soil. Learn how to compost, mulch, chop and drop and read up on soil ecology like bacteria and fungi.

Best tomato crop in 20 years because of a wet/cool July. 104 now, all gone.

I'm from the UK, I don't garden anymore, used to have an allotment until the thieves made it not worthwhile in maintaining our own heirloom varieties. Unless I'm mistaken, every seed we buy from a shop or nursery in the UK is GM unless you do your research and join a club that uses heirloom seeds(I'm going back well over 10 years and so things may have changed), I know I had to pay a subscription to join the club(£1 per year lol), but I used to love the taste of home grown despite all of the time and effort it took.

I didn't ever want GM and so researched heirloom at the time and went with that.

What's the evasive type of worm that makes the soil super clumpy and dry? Basically it's bad for crops and it's getting all around the lower 48.

I think that's just earthworms. They didn't exist in the northern part of the continent because the last ice age killed them all, but idiot humans are reintroducing them and it's fucking up the forests.

My God you're right. And here I thought those little fuckers were cute. They're from Asia and they've been in my home state soil ever since I can remember.

The absolute best sweet corn that we've ever had was grown in our backyard. White, Silver Queen variety. Start boiling the water, go pick a few ears, drop them immediately into the water.

Awesome !
