Dude lol use a bottle of peroxide, like a tablespoon or two of dawn dish soap and a box of baking soda. Mix it together, you can heat it slightly in the microwave as well, just don't burn the doggo.
Rub that all over the dog. Wait 5min and rinse him off.
Instantly skunk smell gone. No paste, no tomatoes, no more smell.
Use fabreze. I promise it works. It has enzymes that consume whatever causes the smell. It is the commercial product of military developed scent masking for troops dropped behind enemy lines.
I did the peroxide thing once when my doggie got skunked and it bleached his fur -- I guess it helped the smell but not a good look
Odd, my dogs are brindle and black and white and tan, none of those has any sign of bleaching. The smell definitely disappeared though. Haven't used anything else since, do it roughly 3x a year.
Gonna bleach the doggos hair a little bit no?
No it doesn't bleach or damage the animal. There is a science to it, I'm just not the scientist to explain it.
Something about inverting amino acids or some shit. What I can say though, I do it roughly 3x a year and it's been a game changer.
Ah ok. I get the gist of it
peroxide, like Hydrogen peroxide? H2O2? and whats the consistency of this shit sounds like it'd be paste like with all that baking soda...
Yep peroxide. The baking soda dissolves, the soap is purely for smell. It's literally like soapy water, maybe a tiny grit but not bad.
Yeah, did that once I was awake enough to process what was going on. Doggo smells better now.
