I plant pink ladies and pixie crunch in pairs, as they bloom late together. Even though the pink lady comes from yellow Dorset, and yellow Dorsets grows faster, the flesh of the pink lady is just on another level and is why I plant them instead. 🫡

This time of year where I walk our dogs is littered with many different varieties of apple, blackberry, pear , damson and plum, you can guess what I'm doing in the next 2 to 3 weeks when their ready for harvesting can't you?. The apples in particular have so much taste because they aren't commercial. Many people will not pick these fruits but will go to the local supermarket and buy them, I live in a very affluent area but the logic is stupid, people don't want to be seen picking them. Obviously I just laugh at them and it's more for me and my family, win win.

Galas are pretty fucking good. But red delicious, macintosh and golden delicious suck ass. Most other apples are decent to great.

Pink lady master race.

My tree kicks ass had like 90-ish% yield last season.

Planted a bastard granny Smith, red delicious and golden delicious grafted on to the same rootstock so interesting to see how that turns out this year. Good pollinators for pink lady too.
