Perhaps, I would argue that is humans are manifestation of God (created in His image), then we are essentially 'light' manifested into matter. All things are Gods creation, manifestation of thought. All things are imbued with His spirit, so all things have a soul, to a degree. Homosexuals and other degenerates have souls, but are overtaken by demons (think parasites) the feed off of that degenerate, anti-God energy. Yes, this is all heretical thinking most likely, but some how it makes sense to me.
Edit: NPCs are soulless though - the inability to have inner dialog is concerning.
