Use sharpies next move. Label the boxes a, b, c.. itemized on a paper so only you know what is in box a, b, c.. Or, write on the boxes, "canned beans, CPAP machine, condoms" and such .
It's your fault
Well thats one way of looking at it.
The sometimesage method:
As you pack write a description of what is in each box on the INSIDE of the box lid. (description should not be visible from the outside) before you close up the box, copy down the contents into a "moving book" assign that box a number write the number on the outside of the box. seal the box with tamper evident tape.
When you move, do not pay the movers until every box is delivered unopened. "accidentally" opened boxes are compared against the ledger for theft. No tips are paid if theft is suspected.
Use the moving book to find things by box number,
BONUS: use color coding on the boxes to tell the movers what room to leave boxes in.
Each box carefully labeled with "kitchen" and "bathroom" and "dad's clothes" etc while packing.
But it's the 6 boxes labeled "stuff" that contain everything you're looking for.
