If you must get in touch with me, call me. The phone will make noise. An annoying noise. Then it will beep and you'll be prompted to leave a voice mail. Then you'll be told the mailbox is full and be cut off. If you really need to talk to me, call again. And again. And again. If you call me back 3x, I'll know it's serious. If you call me back 4x or more, it's a death in the family.

Verbal can resolve a lot of issues conveniently but from my POV it's relied upon too heavily by older generations. At the cost of efficiency, clarity, and documenting things solidly.
