When I am our VFW meeting in a very rural part of our state, we speak in hushed voices and sometimes look over our shoulders when speaking about current events. One of our guys, a Desert Storm Vet was born and raised in East Germany and he always laughs and says, oh yeah, the Stasi are listening, but they don't give a shit, so fuck them and their commie horses too."
