Just ignore it. I make a point of walking away and looking at other things while pumping, especially if the clerks can see me. That's useless in most cases, but I'm pretty sure the people behind the counter at this one are the owners.

When my aforementioned family member worked for NCR, they did everything they could to get out of paying him past 40 hours a week, and then came down on them with a hammer when they couldn't be at their next call in 20 minutes - when call was 150 miles away. He was on call and often was told he had to do multi-day shifts without a rest period. These companies are literal slavedrivers when it comes to their workers. You think they get paid overtime, but they probably don't. Out past then end of your shift on a call? Too damn fucking bad. You're a number, and our system says you should be able to get from Dayton OH to Wheeling WV in 15 minutes. What do you mean the building is on fire, why can't you get the system back on line? You need to finish call before you go home, too bad it's going to take you 4 hours past quitting time.

My family member told his boss to fuck off in so many words, and got fired (along with a bunch of other people who weren't "performing" to the standards laid out above.) He found a new job pretty quickly and now works from home. His boss, the regional manager who thought everyone was a number cut so many people he actually came and personally visited FM, said that they made some mistakes and would FM like to come back. As a contractor. At a lower rate. Using his own personal vehicle instead of a company van. FM told former boss that you only make certain mistakes once, and to get off his patch. Boss apparently no longer works for NCR.

Some of these companies don't even give their techs a vehicle, and pay next to nothing for mileage. That's why they can't keep people.

I've had calls for Diebold-Nixdorf, Toshiba, and NCR about similar jobs, and they are 100% a fucking joke.

TL;DR: Tech isn't making more money. He's being yelled at for taking too long to get to a call, and having a call back because you broke the same screen twice in a week.

I literally just walk away.
