Math, science, logic and all related I really excel. Music, strangely not so much ... it blows my mind how musicians can remember the exact sequence of notes of so many songs, flawlessly play an instrument while singing the lyrics and putting on a show. Way beyond my ability. I was a part time roadie for a gifted friend's band for couple of years in my early 20s. Wild times, great memories!
One test I had in high school was the ASVAB test, I think that was in my junior year. I had the highest overall score in my class, 99th percentile. I had 99th percentile in every sub category but one and that was a 97th percentile. The military wanted me (they wanted about everyone) but I never joined, went on to college and into my career.
As far as school subjects went, I did well across the board, especially in math, art, Spanish, and band...not that it means anything in public school.
Never taken an offical IQ test or the ASVAB...just the state standardized ones. Got some dual credits knocked out in high school, never went on to college...directionless and heading to rock bottom at the time lol...
I ended up with 4 years of latin in high school with the idea it would enhance my vocabulary. Not as much as I had hoped. My understanding at the time was that the ASVAB test was given to all high school juniors across the country each year, at that time.
Hopefully you have some great memories from that excursion and back?! I'm sure you learned a lot from it.
Did most of my learning after high school, yeah. Starting with how not to be a miserable liberal freak :)
