Dad still alive? I was super close with my mom until she did something horrible to me, and her only granddaughter, 27 and 15 years ago, respectively. Went and saw her on her deathbed, said my peace, and wished her an easy journey. Dad died 77 days later. That one was tough. I understand not wanting condolences. It was more of an observation for me than a reflection.
