Eh, no. It will destroy those if you're an alcoholic. Most people can have a healthy relationship with alcohol. Jesus even drank wine. Alcohol is fine if it's not abused.
I agree drinking is a waste...but like anything moderation is fine. Drinking a glass of wine once a week with dinner is actually beneficial. Getting shitty on hard alcohol is basically poisoning yourself. Beer makes you fat and lazy....
