Right but IMO this is in reaction to the pistol brace rule being BTFO because they'll conflate this as a pistol to normies. Just like they did with a standard hunting rifle being muh assault rifle / weapon of war etc.

Agreed. They definitely want to add pistol braces to the ban list and this will help them try again.
