Unlikely. They don't need these minor events to push a CBDC. That said, CBDCs won't work anyway, at least not on people who are aware of the downsides of them (i.e., not people who think the USD is good to hold their money in).
The vast majority of usd is CBDC as it is already.
ATM banks have to hold a 0% cash reserve and the vast majority of transactions are entirely digital.
Yup exactly, USD already is a CDBC and it's shite.
sheeple keep using their shiny plastic instead of cash
hopefully sheeple will jump right on on the next plandemic scare and inject themselves
hopefully I will manage to avoid it
we will see
CBDCs won't work ... on people who are aware of the downsides
Until the FED decides that the physical cash is "no longer valid" because it's "not as 'secure' as CBDC"
At that point you will have to use CBDC, or else you won't be able to buy anything.
Guaranteed there will be plenty of people who will still use cash if that were to happen.
Except you couldn't put the cash in a bank.
Good luck buying groceries or gas with your unacceptable cash.
Only individual communities could accept cash transactions. But that would collapse quickly because the cash could not be used for much outside of that community.
