Find a decent white church, regardless if you are religious or not. They will have a foodbank or access to one. I was volunteering with my church while i was unemployed, i dont have family to help me through stuff like that, and one of my church mates is picking me up a box tomorrow morning to tide me through until next week when i finally see my first paycheck in a month and a half. Not one person judged me for needing help, to the point where i was even able to get a bit of help with a couple of hundred bucks here and there for stuff that couldnt be covered by the food bank. I was bloody blessed that i had all these great people seeing me through the last couple of months despite the fact that i dont believe i deserved a cent of that help. You ask for help, God will provide, it just might not be how you expected or wanted it.
