You might argue that this is already what search engines do, but there is (at least) one huge difference:
A search engine is expected to return many links in the result. I mean what would you think of a search engine that only gave you one answer? At least there's a probability that a few links will contain some truth. An AI "chat" could legitimately just give you one result.
One factor is that AI doesn't learn from its developers, but from its users. Like search engines that take search histories and most clicked results into account when deciding what to present first. There will be AIs that learn from many users, and there will be personal AIs that learn to tell you what you want to hear.
