There was discussion the other day about how our brains can't tell movies from real life, and I've been thinking about it a lot. I found this sad/hilarious blog post that's meant to help people cope with the sadness movies create, even if they're "happy" movies, but I think it unintentionally highlights why they're so toxic and it made me think about how so many people are trying to act out these weird broken internal realities instead of finding a genuine purpose which might be attributed to movies and media. Do what you want, but I think I'm done with movies.

You are correct. I watch and listen to people around me. They go on forever about movies, the lives of celebrities or their favorite character in the Negro Felon League.
I try to ignore it. I haven't watched 10 consecutive minutes of TV in 25 years. I've been coerced into attending I think two movies in the past 15 years. Couldn't tell you the titles.

It's because they cannot achieve anything themselves. Whenever the degenerate bloviate about this crap, I either ignore them outright, or make a comment about how I spent that time actually doing something.
