I never cared about traveling abroad. We went to Ireland in July and had a good time.

Now we are in Vienna, Austria for about a week.

Yeah it's fun but imo still not worth the cost, time away from home and hassle of traveling. Oh well, she will bear great children and we will raise them right, so this is worth keeping her happy.

Boohoo me lol

Was just there, a few months back.

Notice anything?

I did. Almost no one is fat and there are TONS of gorgeous girls, there. I was shocked. The only fat people I saw were Turkish men and some elderly. Almost no fat young people there.

I was also the only one not wearing a jacket or a coat. It was only 45F-55F and these folks had coats, gloves, and hats on. They are scared of the cold, there.

Oh, and, wish me luck: my gorgeous white Austrian GF and I want to get married and make babies.

No joke. Beautiful women everywhere you look.

My GF is German/Russian. And I'm Swede/Finn.

I'm OK with it

I feel the same way in general, traveling for the sake of travel is way over rated. But as I get older and bored with what is near by I appreciate it more. Everything gets stagnant. Novelty becomes more valuable. You begin to notice differences that are subtle or seem meaningless when you are younger.

I remember having the same feeling about people watching sports. None of it was the very least impressive to me. Even though the players were doing things I couldn't in my head they were just adults so obviously they could do those things. It was hardly something worth watching. But as an adult I notice that most adults, no matter how much they practice, can't do those things. I can now see the discrepancy between the skilled and the talented. It makes watching the sport interesting.

Since you are traveling anyway you might as well make the best of it. Make an effort to find the hidden gems. Stick your nose where it doesn't belong. Be adventurous. Get in trouble. You won't see those people again. Your wife is looking for an adventure. Give her more than she is ready for. Pull her out of her comfort zone. Get your money's worth.

Three words - Vienna. House. (of) Ribs. Don't know where it actually is but when I was there 15'ish years ago, it was absolutely fantastic. The actual restaurant seemed to be slightly underground and in what appeared to be bomb shelter. The ribs were delicious. (Much better than the overhyped Wiener Schnitzel that we had.)

It was actually a FANTASTIC trip.

You go to Vienna and have ribs? Lol

I was part of a group. The location wasn't my choice but after having the BORING Schnitzel the previous night, I wasn't going to argue.

but after having the BORING Schnitzel

Fuck you ribfag. Don't you ever insult Schnitzels.

Schnitzel is love, Schnitzel is life!

I'm sure it closed during the plandemic. So many legendary places worldwide did all because of globalist greed.

Thanks for the tip!! We went there and it was awesome. It's actually called ribs of vienna. Was delicious. Had 3 types of ribs and the wife also ordered 3 types of perogis that were very good.

LOL - when I went, I also had three 1/2-racks. Each one a different flavor.

Glad you enjoyed it AND glad to know that it's still there.

You should go into one of those old buildings with the shiny woodwork and gold leaf and listen to some Strauss waltzes or something. Also, get some Wienerschnitzel.

My wife decided we're driving from Zagreb to South Hampton to visit her family. 20 hrs total trip time, with 18 hrs of driving total.

The worst part is we have to drive back in a few days... Ugh how much does it cost to put our car on a train or truck and fly back...

She is also worth it, so I'm venting online for my sake.

Do what you can to enjoy the road trip. Have her fall asleep lol.

Agreed, it was best when she was asleep. It was pouring rain through most of Germany. Hit the unrestricted sections and got the car up to 180kph for short stretches. It was pretty cool...

Back when Super Troopers came out I saw the scene with the German guy and the Porsche. I told myself one day I'd "go fast" on the Autobahn and blast that bubbles song.

It would have meant more to me ten years ago when I was in my twenties and hopelessly single but hey it was still nice to say I did it.

Don't forget to eat some wiener schnitzel and sachertorte while you are there

Travelling is great if you stay the fuck away from all the tourist trap nonsense.
