I was afraid of my dad as a young boy . I was afraid of niggers as a young boy I was afraid of being alone as a young man. I was afraid of being a father as a young man. I was afraid of losing my job. I was afraid of being stuck in my job forever. I'm afraid of getting old and deteriorating physically as I get old. I'm afraid of being dependent on others . I'm afraid of dying afraid instead of bravely accepting death .

I'm sick of being afraid.

There's nothing wrong with being afraid. Free floating fear is something many of us deal with and I've found the best way is to take one day at a time. I think we all worry about everything you listed, it's part of being human.

Don't be afraid of aging and dying because we all do it. Let yourself face growing older happily. Be grateful everyday you wake up and everything works and get on with your day.

Take care of yourself now and you will be less likely to be dependent on others when you are aged and infirm. Death is a part of our existence and nothing can stop it so there's no reason to be afraid. When it comes it comes.

Find what brings you joy. Join the church choir or volunteer at a homeless kitchen cooking and serving meals. Volunteer at nursing homes or in a hospital or even a humane society. Channel the energy you put into worrying about uncertainty into something positive.
