There's one of the issues that many couples have, they give up on their friends and become reliant on each other, then one goes the other can't carry on, seen it many times. My elderly neighbors wife died, he was fit and healthy, cared for her for 20 years, he was 93, still drove, shopped and everything for himself. Lost his purpose when she passed, dead within 12 weeks!. It's sad, I've always encouraged my wife(been together 27 years now) to do her own thing and have outside interests because I don't want that type of thing too happen to her. Why I hear you ask, because I love her. If my wife died, I would naturally be lost for a period of time but would then get on with life knowing that she would want that(vise versa also), I don't think I would get involved with another woman though, I don't think anyone could fill her boots .
