It's been years, maybe pre-2010, but there was a site that would auto sign up a provided address to receive free samples from hundreds of different companies. A friend or foe may receive a douche one week, a small box of tide the next week and lint roller and an adult diaper the next.

I used to love signing up for free samples online. When I was 16, I got a free t-shirt that ended up being proudly in my rotation for almost 20 years.

I've had my free "BuyDehydratedWater" T-shirt for about 15 years, from back when that site was live.

Fuck I'm old.

I signed up for a couple of things. Prior to the iPhone era, things were a bit more innocent and worse case, you'd find yourself getting a bit more physical junk mail.

There were once people I'd have loved to sign their numbers and emails up for a spam bot, but I grew up and became less spiteful.
