It's called a sundog. It used to ba a rarity, but I see them several times a year now, always after heavy spraying.

I'd venture to guess it has to do with the earths weakening magnetic field. Different colored aurora borealis are being seen now, that have never been recorded before. New types of lightning discovered in the past couple years. All due to weakening field and the north and south magnetic poles flipping.
