Before the pandemic I'd pay between $2-3/lb. I average about $5/lb now. It's more but not the prices I hear from some of y'all on this site.

As I said to another. I had no idea it was that bad outside this area. I truly do feel bad for y'all.

I also give the man a case of my homemade wine and brandy whenever I make a purchase.

Sounds good. I'd love to do that, but I can't afford to pay triple for that luxury, unfortunately. I'd probably be healthier eating local, pasture-raised beef, but feed lot beef is still better for you than sugar and chemical soup that most people eat.

I should have mentioned my price per lb is for all meat. I do a fair amount of processing it myself. I go to the farmer and tell him I want half a cow. He finds another buyer if I don't have one lined up. Then he slaughters the cow, gets rid of the carcass and does minor processing. I do the more refined processing and make the cuts I want. All leftover gets turned into burger.
