Hate speech would be pretty obvious in a truthful society, it would be calls to attack people unjustly, such as 'i hate whites, kill whitey' and they have zero reason to want to kill whites. That probably should be banned since its an unnecessary call to violence and people screaming that at white people or white children deserve punishment.

What we have now though is speech repression to preserve lies. "black people commit disproportionate amount of crime" is hate speech, the reason is that it is the truth and they dont want you to know it. "jews have disproportionate influence in influential institutes" again is the truth that they dont want you to know.

The society we live in allows the former which should be illegal while suppressing the latter which should be legal. I can make a call to kill whites and nobody batts an eye, but i cant criticize jewish behaviour or black crime rates because drawing attention to the truth reveals white supremacy.

Anything that reveals our superiority is 'promoting white supremacy' which defacto in dickhead speak means you want to literally murder 6 million jews for no reason at all. The conclusion is preformed in peoples minds, the 'no reason at all' part overwrites the evidence you just provided.

"man i hate these bankers and lawyers they really fucked me in my divorce" "weird they all have jewish surnames just like your wifes psychologist" "bro thats antisemetic! why do you hate jews so much what have they ever done to you!" "..."

This is why I think Elon Musk taking over Twitter is a bad thing in the long run. If Twitter had continued getting worse people would have mostly abandoned it and many would have flocked to forums that either respected free speech, or that were decentralized and not under anyone’s control.

Instead people are coming back to Twitter in droves. It’s not as bad as it used to be, but it is still centrally controlled and that control is exercised. I don’t think their definition of hate speech has changed.

Eh idk, he took over just before the Ye controversy and enough was allowed to escape. I dont think anyone was really moving away tbh, it was an incredibly slow drip. Like 1% of the people banned for something would bother with a new platform that werent already there.

I’d like to go back to forums also but as we’ve seen with gab, parler, stormfront etc they just remove your domain name or kick you off ddos protection etc and you have to have enough money to get around them, most providers won’t even host a site that contains “hate speech”.

Also even if you run your own server companies will yank licenses etc so you have to build if from the ground up. I don’t know what poal does but I’m glad they exist.

I believe blue host was the last one and they caved after months of being attacked by liberals because a website allowed users to post the names of politicians/bureaucrats by state that were “traitors” lmao. They said it was a hit list and was finally removed.

Some of the normal forums I used to frequent disappeared because of “shit”, “nigger” or tranny after being warned.

I met this fat jewist looking jew girl millennial in Portland around Halloween 2014 or 15 I was with my GF and we were outside and she was talking about working at a hosting company.

I was interested because I was looking for a place that wouldn’t ban the “hate forum” I had been previously running. I asked about free speech and she started getting real angry and telling me what words or topics would get you removed, it was her department that she was partially in charge of.

I then asked what if someone said “happy birthday Hitler” and she kept getting more angry. Now this is Portland proper but a blue collar area so it’s a little more moderate but still liberal but she was an unhinged “woke liberal” before the movement really took off.

I kept asking innocent things after that and anything and everything would get you banned even mundane crap by this time there’s probably 30 or 40 people out there and everyone is watching me be calm and her freaking out over swear words lmao. People even comes in asking things and it would be banned.

I finally said, so any site you host has to be kid friendly and with no swears words at all, that seems really stupid, we’re adults can’t I just put a warning on the page saying “may contain swear words”.

She then totally flips, screams at the top of her lungs about Hitler, wishing him happy birthday, niggers, and the innocent stuff I started asking when people had started to come outside(they didn’t here me asking about “hate speech”, Hitler, jews, niggers etc.)

When she stormed back inside everyone was asking what happened. I said I had no idea, I was asking about starting a car forum and she said there could be no swearing, I have no idea why she’s talking about Hitler and the other stuff.

People started laughing and someone said jews always overact when challenged and think everything is about Hitler. Lmao.

My girlfriend later told me to stop baiting people into freaking out but I can’t, it’s so hilarious.

It’s a bit of a pipe dream, but the ultimate solution is peer to peer social networking software. No central control. Only a standard protocol and the software to operate by it. Content, users, etc. would be verified by a blockchain.

It would be loaded with spam and imposters, so we would need networks of trust built into the protocol to know who is legit and who is sketchy, but it could work and it could not be controlled by anyone short of China style blocking at the network level.

There are various projects aiming to get this working, but since no one would control this and profit from it they are all open source and developed on volunteered time (as far as I know).
