Just as Santa clause isn’t what Christmas is about, neither is turkey what Thanksgiving is about. Just a reminder to take the time to really meditate on all we have to be grateful for. Even if it doesn’t seem like it sometimes, we are all blessed in many ways. Don’t mess up the time with your family by getting neurotic about politics. A few little un-impassioned remarks don’t hurt, but enjoy your time with them. I understand that it’s hard to look somebody in the eye and enjoy their company when they are advocating for the castration of kids, but these kind of bickering debates only solidify their stance. Humor and friendliness goes much farther in getting somebody to change their views. It’s usually not their fault, they have been hypnotized by very powerful forces. Life is too short to let these beautiful moments with our families get ruined over something as stupid as politics.

It took me far too long to realize this stuff. I’m in my early to mid 30s now and took all this stuff for granted almost my whole life. I know that when I’m on my deathbed days like tomorrow are gonna be the memories I cherish. Sorry for the sappy post. Happy Thanksgiving y’all

Good sentiment. Happy turkey day.

In all honesty that's all Thanksgiving should mean. Turkey and food. The rest should be common place. We should be thankful to our families year round. And let them know regularly. I do not understand people that only get together with their family on "holidays". What's so special about made up celebrations? Why do we need "holidays" as an "excuse" to get together? It's crazy to me. The fact that our holidays are built on lies should make them mean even less...
