I had some dude contact me last night about a job with a university in NM doing work on the sands. Western name, but the guy turned out to be an Indian of course.
Asked my normal round of questions: What's the pay, what's the relocation, what's the vax requirement? First one he started rambling about things outside the scope in the description influencing pay, second he just said "Yes, this is on-site" (no kidding,) and the third he said they didn't require the clot shots. Not a "apply for exemption," just a "Do not require."
Job turned out to be kind of poor pay for what they were asking for, absolutely no benefits to speak of (pure contract,) and minimal relocation assistance.
I find it interesting, however, that this job didn't require the fauci-ouchie. Last year at this time, jobs like this through universities on government projects were hysterical about the shots, no exceptions. Now, they don't seem to care. There are plenty of places out there that still require them (Honeywell and SRC, looking at you, no one is going to take a job in nowhere Alaska for that pay...) but many companies seem to be quietly sweeping them under the rug.
