Merlot and Burgundy when it's cold, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as it warms up and Champagne as summer approaches. Beer is for summertime. Hard liquor is, of course, for the harsh reality of winter. Whiskey, gin and vodka are perfect for the short days, the cold nights, and fucking up the entire family's Christmas, ruining the end of the current year and destroying any illusions of improvement at the beginning of the next.
