If a driver is intent on watching for oncoming cars, his brain can fail to register a motorcycle which has a much smaller visual impact. So the the driver doesn't see the motorcycle right in front of him. It's a good idea to train your mind to always look for cars and motorcycles and bicycles when you make a left turn.
