Just saw a guy try to turn left into a parking lot… not sure how he didn’t see the motorcycle in the oncoming lane. Nailed it… biker on the pavement, couple broken wrists, probably some ribs and a leg… yeah, watch out for the other guy, even if you have the right of way.

Good thing you were there to stick around and give an eye witness report to the police when they arrived.

Funny enough there was an off duty officer there, he was maybe 20’ away when it happened, I was 300’ out. Volunteer firefighter and an emt also came running up after about 5 minutes.

With all the distractions on the streets these days, there's still some validity to the saying, "Loud pipes save lives."

Some. I was gonna say something about kids with bowel shaking subwoofers in their trunks, but come to think of it that fad died out like 15 years ago.

It is known that your brain can filter out information it considers extraneous. If a driver is intent on watching for oncoming cars, his brain can fail to register a motorcycle which has a much smaller visual impact. So the the driver doesn't see the motorcycle right in front of him. It's a good idea to train your mind to always look for cars and motorcycles and bicycles when you make a left turn.
