Will it be the soul crushing dystopian future I believe is unfolding now ? Materialism , constant surveillance , digital currency ( total control ) , " smartcars " again total control , living in some kind of freaking pod , virtual reality , and licit and illicit endemic drug use.

Time is short, can anything be done to prevent this or is it as inevitable as the incoming tide ?

The problem is that with the information age your scope of reality has reached a global scale.

Prior to the information age you and I would only know what was printed or spoken or shared by those in power and those of substance and so our knowledge of events the world over would be far removed. For instance we wouldn't even know that trannies exist and if we did know they exist we wouldn't care because we wouldn't know one and if the teacher tried to tell a kid to be one they would get ran out of town.

But now there is the constant and instantaneous spread of sensationalist ideas because that is what brings the views. And since you and I are now aware of these things and since people such as us wish to fix things it becomes a herculean struggle against insanity.

And since the average person is a fucking idiot the futility of our position is plain to see.

It is my opinion that things will get better because sanity will win in the end.
