I find lots of 80s music to be optimistic and even celebratory. Almost any 80s song on youtube has lots of comments from people wishing they would have been alive in that decade and/or wondering what the heck happened to music since then.

Yeah and some of us wondered what happened way earlier. But really I like the hair bands. I remember first hearing g&r on klol out of houston at midnight. It was like they bought rock and roll back. I dont expect many of yall to agree but you werent there.
